Casting a chart, reading each palace, and the pattern analysis need no account at all — that part never leaves your device. You only sign in if you want an AI reading, because readings are metered and the count has to be kept somewhere.
Your questions
When you tap Read, your question goes through our relay to Google's Gemini API — first for an automated safety check, and then, if it's a question we'll answer, again together with a summary of your chart to write that one reply. The safety check runs even when no reading is produced. Nothing is linked to your identity, and our relay stores none of it. To limit abuse, our relay keeps counters keyed by your IP address and by a random per-device identifier generated in your browser: the sliding-window ones expire after an hour, and the per-day ones after at most 48 hours. Nothing but a count is stored against them. Abuse events (rate-limit hits, upstream errors) are also written to our server logs, which include the IP address and are retained by Cloudflare for a limited period. We use Gemini's paid tier: Google does not use your questions or the replies to improve its products, but it does log them for a limited period to detect abuse of its API.
Location
Used on your device to compute true solar time for your chart. Your longitude is kept on your device so we don't have to ask again; your coordinates never reach our servers. If you allow location, your coordinates go to a third-party geocoding service (bigdatacloud.net) solely to show your city name. You can type a longitude by hand instead, or leave it blank.
Birth date
Optional, and stored only on your device. If you then ask for a reading, the chart summary sent along includes the birth year and its traditional pillar — never the full date.
Signing in
You can sign in with Google or with a code sent to your email address. Either way, all we keep is a one-way hash of your email address, your reading balance, and the date the account was created. We store your address itself only so we can show you which account you're signed in to. We never see your Google password, and we don't read anything else from your Google account. Your questions are never linked to your account.
Purchases
Payments are processed by Stripe on their own checkout page. We never see your card number. When a purchase completes, we record Stripe's session ID so the same purchase can't be credited twice. That ID is not linked to any question you ask. Purchases made in the iOS app are handled by Apple on the same terms.
Stored on your device
Your browser keeps your sign-in token, your longitude, your display language, a cached copy of your reading balance, and — on the web — the readings you've received, so you can look back at them. That history stays in your browser; it is never uploaded, and you can clear it any time from Settings. Clearing your browser data removes all of it.
